The LBF, (Leukaemia & Blood Foundation, now Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand), supports patients and their families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood conditions.

Brief

Shave for a Cure is the LBF’s signature fundraiser. I worked on the website creative brief and functionality requirements and provided all copy. We had a number of aims:

• Position the event as fun for both genders
• Create a ‘community’ feel with real-time tracking of shavee numbers and money raised
• Provide an easy-to-use online donation function
• Motivate shavees by providing individual fundraising pages

The year the site was launched, Shave for a Cure broke all previous LBF fundraising records.
